North Shields Heritology Project
The entry below is a synopsis of our speakers talk on 4th September 2024.
A very interesting presentation this week by Mr Keith Spedding entitled "North Shields Heritology Project ".
The show consisted a project was about the Percy Main Primary School film entitled “Steel Plates and Shipyard Gates“ this was funded by Historic England“.
The second film was made with Year 6 pupils at Christ Church Primary School was all about "Hard Times and Petty Crimes" Christ Church Primary School, North Shields. Part of #HistoricHighStreets".
Year 5 made a documentary about "Victor Noble Rainbird – Broken Dreams " Wellfield Middle School Part of #HistoricHighStreets.
Waterville Primary School made a documentary film about the role of abolitionists in North Shields named “Don’t look the other way – The Waterville Slaver“.
"Heritology" is a word they have made up to mean a combination of Heritage and Technology.
A very good morning for all our members who thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.
Questions followed on several points to conclude a very entertaining morning.
