March 2022 after a long lockdown due to Covid19 the club restarted in September 2021. the charity jar had been dormant during that time and was restarted again. On March 23rd we had Mrs Sue Oxlley (who is the area ambassador for Mary's Meals) visited the club and gave us a very enlightening presentation about the work that this charity undertakes. Mary's Meals was going to be our charity of the year 2020 so the club decided to hand over the contents of the charity jar (plus rounding it up) to £250, see picture left to right Ian East, Tony Crane, Sue Oxlley, Robin Birks and Mike Graham. In November Sue returned to give us a talk on The Birth of the Goddess Movement in England and it was decided to add £50 to her charity.

July 2018 the club decided to raise money for the Northumberland Blood Bykes
Northumbria Blood Bikes is a registered charity established by local volunteers to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies, out of hours, between hospitals and other healthcare sites in North East England. We cover Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Darlington.
Outside normal office hours, hospitals rely on taxis or couriers to transfer urgent medical supplies or test samples between hospitals and other sites. Blood Bike groups, across the country, offer to carry out this service free of charge, ensuring the limited resources of the NHS can be used where it makes a difference.

July 2017 the club decided to raise money this year for 2 charities
The first was Shelter Box which sends aid in the form of boxes of basic needs. The aid they supply comes in the form of ShelterBoxes and ShelterKits. The sturdy green ShelterBoxes contain family-sized tents specially designed to withstand the elements and provide people with temporary shelter until they are able to start the process of rebuilding a home. The ShelterKits contain all of the essential tools people need to start repairing and rebuilding homes straight away.
